These two ceramic objects were inspired by walking the streets of Tel Aviv and rediscovering the city’s structures. The result is two objects that metamorphose when observed from different angles. Placing them together evokes the atmosphere of a typical Tel Aviv neighborhood, seen from a new, unfamiliar angle: the buildings are seen from above, giving the sense that one is a giant walking through the city.

Materials: Porcelain (lead-free), paint
Dimensions: 10.2in*11.8in

Nadya and Dima Gurevich

Nadya and Dima Gurevich, a husband-and-wife team, are two young designers who immigrated to Israel from Eastern Europe. Upon completion of their studies in Ceramic Art and Industrial Design, the couple opened the Sculpture In Design Studio in Old Jaffa, where they create functional sculptures made from porcelain that span a range of styles, from the delicately elegant to the bluntly whimsical. These objects insert themselves into the quotidian habits of daily life, sparking conversations and creating space for thought and inspiration within mundane actions.
