This painting offers a fleeting glimpse outside an old Tel Aviv window onto the doves fluttering outside, so ubiquitous to the Garden City. The urban view of the neighboring building, typical of the densely crowded apartments of the city, is framed by the plastic shutters found in older buildings. The stark Israeli sunlight is reflected off the opposite building, and filters through the tree branches and the shutters. All the mundane elements of this mundane scene, so easily overlooked, converge together to capture an ephemeral moment of beauty.
